Texas Gulf Historical and Biographical Record

Working in partnership with the Texas Gulf Historical Society, the Lamar University history department is home to the Texas Gulf Historical and Biographical Record, a journal devoted to the history of Southeast Texas and the Gulf Coast.  Since 1964, the Record has provided an outlet for scholarship on the region.  Dr. Jimmy L. Bryan, Jr., serves as editor. 

The Record seeks contributions for upcoming volumes and encourages submissions from scholars of diverse levels of experience and expertise.  Submissions should conform to The Chicago Manual of Style and not exceed 8,000 words, including notes.  Both text and notes should be double-spaced.  Submissions may be sent as e-mail attachments in Microsoft Word or Word Perfect to jimmy.bryan@lamar.edu or mailed to:
