Psychology Clinic

The Graduate Psychology Clinic at Lamar University provides psychotherapy services free of charge to Lamar University students, faculty and staff, as well as to members of community. The clinic serves individuals over the age of 18. Clients are seen by graduate students studying for the Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology. Dr. Elizabeth Aronson, the clinical track training director and a licensed psychologist, supervises the students.

Therapists will listen to your concerns in a warm, confidential, respectful and caring environment. We will help you identify, value and maximize your strengths so that you are well-equipped to meet the challenges that come your way. Therapists use therapeutic techniques supported by a solid body of research that demonstrates their effectiveness, including cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness and motivational interviewing techniques. We are also happy to coordinate treatment with medical care provided to you by others, such as a primary care physician or a psychiatrist.

Because the clinic is staffed by therapists in training, some problems may not be suitable for treatment in our clinic. If your difficulties are beyond the training of our staff, we will refer you to appropriate resources in the community that will better serve your needs.

  • Anxiety
    • Phobias
    • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
